It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Olen Hudgins (Salem, South Carolina), born in Macon, Georgia, who passed away on September 28, 2019, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosamond Etheredge Hudgins and Robert Richard Hudgins; and his sister-in-law Jamie Lynn Horn Hudgins. He is survived by: his wife Lesley; his son Chris; his daughter-in-law Chelsea; his granddaughter Chloe; his siblings, Michael David Hudgins and Rebekah Hudgins (Greg Brough); his nephews, Walker and Reuben; his sister-in-law Laurel Prinz Matthews (Terry); and his nephews, Ryan and Sean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pickens Presbyterian Church Child Development Center, Pickens, SC, Keowee Fire Department, Salem, SC, or the American Cancer Society.

“I knew Richard many years ago from our days going to First Prez in Albany, GA and playing softball togehter. After seraching today 10/3/2023, I found the notice of his passing. My heart dropped and was so said to hear of my friends passing. If the time presents itself, would love to tell your Son and Family a couple of funny stories about Richard playing on the Church Men's basket/softball team and other good memories of a Good Man named Richard.
