Janice L Crosby Obituary
An inspirational warrior, Janice L Crosby, embarked upon her final sailing, at home, on Sunday November 1, 2020, after a recurring and valiant fight with Pancreatic Cancer.
Jan was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 5, 1951, the first child of William and Kathleen Bellaire. She graduated from Bloomfield Hills Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She earned her Bachelor degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University and her MBA from Wayne State University. Jan was hired by GM Truck and Coach, upon graduation, where she became the first female traveling auditor for the division.
She met and married her soul mate, Charles Crosby, in 1977. They relocated from her home state, to Nashville Tennessee, in a move with the Saturn Corporation. But her wanderlust for travel kept calling and she left GM to start her own Cruise Travel Consulting company.
In 2001, Jan and Charlie moved to Keowee Key, where she continued her travel consulting and embraced the amenities of the community. Besides her worldwide travels, Jan enjoyed golfing, dabbled with the synchronized swimming group, her book club, dinner club, wine club, and kayaking and boating on the lake.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Charles, step-daughter, Shawn Heroux of Virginia Beach, VA; grandson, Alex Tan of Chesapeake, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Bellaire and Kenneth (Wilamowski) of Clarkston, MI. She is also survived by her Walker family cousins, as well as many close and supportive friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jan's memory to the:
