He was predeceased by: his wife Lillie Lyrlene Moss Bearden of Salem; his parents, James Tyler Bearden, Sr. and Martha Burns Bearden; and his sisters, Pauline Lusk and Ilene Johnson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Wilson (Troy) and Letha Alexander (Mike); his grandchildren, Benjamin James Tompkins, Tanner Ryan Galloway, Tyler Dwane Galloway, Lacey Porter (Aaron) and Londyn Alexander; and his great grandchildren, Riley Porter and Andi Porter.
