He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph John and Eva Uline Poetz; his daughter Kristi Poetz McRae; his son-in-law James McRae; his brother David Poetz (Nancy McGloon Poetz); his siblings-in-law, JoAnne Lardenoit, David Kerry Seal and Don LeBombard; his nephew John Poetz; and his siblings-in-law, Ernie and Eva Lardenoit.

He is survived by : his wife Roseann Marie Lardenoit Poetz of Salem; his son, Joshua D. Poetz (Emily) of Clemson, SC; his sisters, Geraldine Seal of Orlando, FL and Jo Ann Haendel (Mark) of Santa Monica, CA; his grandsons, Ryan James Poetz, Jacob Austin Poetz and Lucas McClain Poetz; and his sisters-in-law, Marianne McCarthy (Fran) and Sheri LeBombard of Michigan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
