She was predeceased by: her parents, William Elmus and Annie Orr Barrett of Salem, SC.; and her brothers, Melvin, Elvis, Broadus and Mayford Barrett.

She is survived by: her husband Edgar C. Gilstrap; her children, Teresa Albertson of Clemson, SC, Eddie Gilstrap (Rhonda) of Seneca, SC and Mike Gilstrap (Lisa) of Westminster, SC; and her siblings, Don Barrett (Jo) of Walhalla, SC and Audrey Barker of Seneca, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
