She was predeceased by: her father William B. Carter; her brothers, Willie Carter, Al Carter, Michael Carter and Keith Carter; and her husband Ernest Mitchell.
She is survived by: her mother Dorothy Mae Boatright McAbee; her children, Connie Cross (Michael) of Summerville, Sally Moody Gatlin of St. Stephen, D. J. Bazzle of Hope Mills, NC and Chris Bazzle (Rachael) of St. Stephen; her stepchildren, Libby M. Litchfield (David) of Macedonia, Eunice Driggers (Bruce) of Moncks Corner and Richard Mitchell of Macedonia; and her siblings, Joyce Myers of Jedburg, Donna Heirs of Walterboro, Janice Hill of Wauchula, FL, Alvin Carter of Orangeburg and Bud Carter of Walterboro. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
