He is survived by: his wife Julia Drafts Phillips; his sons, Ed Phillips (Billie) of Conway and Jeff Phillips (Teri) of Charleston; his siblings, Lessie Werner of Oakridge, TN and Alton Phillips of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Michelle Bellamy, Seth Bellamy (Kendra), Rachel Phillips and Kole Phillips; and his great grandchildren, Todd (Whitney), Austin, Aidan, Ian, Heather and Noah.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hood's Chapel United Methodist Church, 2451 Highway 17 A North, Bonneau, SC 29431.
