He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burnes McGrew and Lottie Marie Mallard McGrew; his daughters, Robin Renee Ramsey Baker, Donna Bucci and Angela LeBlanc; and his brothers, William Ellis McGrew, Howard McGrew, Marion McGrew, Bobby McGrew, Carl McGrew and Jerry McGrew.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie McGrew; his children, Samuel McGrew, II and Peggy Jo Litchfield (Ricky); and his grandsons, Marshall, James Ramsey, Patrick Clifton, Rick Litchfield and Bryan Bucci.
