He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pinckney Kizer and Vernata Peagler Kizer. He is survived by: his wife Sandra A. Kizer; his brother Freddie Kizer; his daughters, Chelsea M. Kizer and Brandi L. Kizer; and his siblings, Herman Kizer of St. George, Thurman Kizer (Lenora) of St. George and Theresa Sweatman Mathis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
