He was predeceased by : his parents, Gloria Murray Byrd and Albert Clement Byrd; his brother Johnny Byrd; and his niece Julie Buchanan Carter. He is survived by : his children, Matthew Hutto Byrd (Melissa) and Angie Byrd Reed (Jim); his grandsons, John Reed and Sam Reed; his sister Kaye Byrd Harper; his nieces, Kristen B. Hatchell, Stephanie Harper and Jessica Byrd; his great-nephews, Cole Carter and Dylan Carter; and his great-niece Kaydance Hatchell.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. George Cemetery (5667 Memorial Boulevard St., George, St).
