He was predeceased by: his wife Allyson Tisdale Phillips; his parents, Kennedy E. Phillips, Sr. and Mary Hause Phillips; his grandchildren, Samuel and Margaret Fulford; and his son-in-law Roger Fulford.
He is survived by: his children, John Phillips (Stephanie) of Ruffin and Constance Fulford of Dothan, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Sherilyn Phillips, Betsy Altman, Cooper Bailey and Johnathan Fulford. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
The family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to a veteran's organization of one's choice.
