She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wade Hawkins and Georgia Henrietta Knight Hawkins; her sons, Brady Lyons and Dwayne Lyons; and her siblings, James Wade Hawkins, Jr., Benjamin Everett Hawkins, Marion Hawkins, Otis Hawkins, Jeanette Jackson and Valerie Gerard.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Sue Nixon of Walterboro, James Grey Nixon, II of Dobson, Wayne Eaves of Walterboro, Lora Nettles of Walterboro, Andy Lyons of Walterboro, Greg Lyons of Tennessee and Dewey Lyons of Florida; and her sister Attie Childress of Elkin. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory, Walterboro Chapel (1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
