She was predeceased by: her parents, Arto Wheeler and Elizabeth Wheeler; and her brothers, Arto Jay Wheeler, Jr. and Michael A. Wheeler. She is survived by: her son James Elliott Wheeler of Ruffin; her grandchildren, James Elliott Wheeler, II of Walterboro and Payton Wheeler of Augusta, Georgia; her sisters, Dianne M. Johnson of Walterboro, Sylvia Theresa Wheeler of Zebulon and Willeka Sanders (Shawn) of Boston, Massachusetts; her aunts and uncles, Richard Williams (Florene) of Sylvania Georgia, Lee Seabrook of Jacksonville, Florida, Essie Mae Williams of Covington and Bonnie Mae Gatewood of Plant City; her close friends, Minnie Brewer of Boston and Annette Bodison of Walterboro; and also Vernell "Dunky" Lewis of Ruffin. She is also survived by six nephews; one niece; three great nephews; one great niece.
