He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Thurman and Cora Gulledge Thurman; his wife Sandra Jenkins Thurman; his siblings, Susie Raffaldt, Helen Clark, Buddy Thurman, Bobby Thurman and Charles Thurman; and his daughter-in-law Angie Thurman.
He is survived by: his sons, William Kelly Thurman (Kim) of Lumberton, NC, George Allan Thurman (Terry) of Chesterfield, SC and John Kevin Thurman of Chesterfield, SC; his grandchildren, Holly Pankey (Mark), Alyssa Britt (Austin), Mary-Kaitlin Thurman, Will Thurman, Leah Hurst (Clayton), Lauren Griggs (James), Ryan Johnson (Margie) and Anna Schaff (JL); and his sisters-in-law, Chizuko Jenkins and Doris Thurman. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
