It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Jackson Ussery of Ruby, South Carolina, born in Wadesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on December 8, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Ussery and Viola Stafford Ussery; his son R. J. Ussery Jr.; and his stepmother Blanche Ussery. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Ussery of Ruby, SC; his daughters, Angel Melton (Casey) of Mt. Croghan, SC and Joann Turner of Ruby, SC; his sister Mary Smith of Patrick, SC; and his grandsons, Brandon Honeycutt (Bree) and David Miles (Erika).
