He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Smith and Lillian Sharpe Smith; and his daughter Ruby Diane Smith. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Bouye Smith; his children, Steve Smith (Betsy) and Linda Cliett (Rick); and his grandchildren, Eronn Amick (Bobby), Eric Smith (Heather), Joshua Hodge (Tammy), Jessica Haygood (Nick), Daniel Cliett (Aghtan), Wesley, Tabitha, Watson, Walker, Sebian, Turner, Gabrielle, Dalton, Layton, Dylan and Chloe.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bank UMC Building Fund.
