He is survived by: his wife Frances Melton; his children, Brenda Melton Biggers (Larry) of West Union, SC, Richard "Rick" Melton (Denise) of Wadesboro, NC and Regina Melton Prunty (Don) of Vinton, VA; his grandchildren, Susan Merrill (Mark), Melissa Manning (Tim), Shanna Jackson (Dustin), Kayla Marsh (Travis), Beau Melton (Raven) and Ciara Melton; and his siblings, Troy Melton (Doris), Maurice "Bud" Melton, Estelle Sullivan and Betty Short. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
