He was predeceased by: his siblings, Frances C. Whitesell, Anise C. McSwain, Christine C. Peeler, Margie C. Giles, Merle C. Parry, William "Bill" Chitwood, John Chitwood and Preston Chitwood; and his parents, Robert Chitwood and Betty Edwards Chitwood.
He is survived by: his children, Marshall Brian Chitwood (Teresa), Deana Mah (Gary) and Mala McCoy; his sister Julia Chitwood Lancaster (Stanley); and his grandchildren, Cole McCoy (Rachel), Eden Chitwood and Walker Hansen.
