He was predeceased by : his spouse Leola Shands; and his siblings, Elnora M. Williams, Fred Thomas Means and Charlie Marion Means. He is survived by : his son Garvin E. Means of Spartanburg, SC; his sister Mattie M. Means of Roebuck, SC; his granddaughters, Vanessa Logan (Bernard) and Brandy Johnson (Devron); his sisters-in-law, Fannie S. Rogers and Mary Louise M. Means; and his niece Betty Williams. He is also survived by his three great-granddaughters; his four great-great-granddaughters.
