He is survived by: his wife Cathie; his children, Chris Hopkins of Rock Hill, SC, Catherine Garside (Mark) of Columbia, SC and Jonathan Hopkins of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Mark Alexander Garside, Anderson Cate Garside, Eloise Vivian Garside and Ramsay Hopkins Williams; and his sister Anne Ramsay Melton of Laurinburg, NC.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
