He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. Crolley Sr. and Hazel Saunders Modrall. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Inman Crolley; his children, Emily B. Amerson (Kevin) of Atlanta, GA and Brittain M. Crolley (Katie Caviness) of Odenton, MD; his granddaughter Savannah Grace Crolley; his sister Tamara Miles (Dan) of Downingtown, PA; and his nieces, Kristen Cansler Sparks (Andrew) and Linda Cansler William (Chris).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Crolley's name to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave., Suite 100, Charlotte, NC, 28207.

“I live across the street from the Crolleys, and would often see Richard mowing his lawn waving a friendly hello. Only few weeks ago he working outside and he invited me over to see his woodworking shed. Wow! He had all sorts of tools, a ready supply of orange slice candies and Carole King music . He showed me his latest finished piece for his son, we chatted for an hour. My heartfelt sympathies for the family. I am sorry that I did not get to spend more time with him, he was a true gentleman !”
