Nelson Cartrette Obituary

Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Nelson Cartrette, 81, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Cartrette was born in Brunswick County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Bert Cartrette and the late Edna Louise Nivens Cartrette. He was the owner and operator of Nelson's Cabinet Shop and J. C. Calls. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to travel out west, and loved the Rocky Mountains. Mr. Cartrette was a gifted craftsman, entrepreneur, artist, and extrovert.

Services for Mr. Cartrette will be 11:30 am on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, in Rock Hill, SC with James (Jim) Cartrette officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2338 Ross Dye Road, Blackstock, SC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am-11:30 am on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.

Mr. Cartrette is survived by his wife, Dorothy Caldwell Cartrette; his two daughters, Dana Cartrette (Patrice) Bruneau of Rock Hill, SC, and Kari Megan Cartrette of Rock Hill, SC; his two sons, James Nelson (Wendy) Cartrette of Fort Mill, SC, and Jason Michael Cartrette of Saint George, UT; his two sisters, Mae Bell Evans and Virginia Williamson; his brother, Jasper Ashe; and his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Cartrette's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
