He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bynum and Onis Carpenter Bynum; his wife Barbara Robinson Bynum; his siblings, Sydney, Worth, Kermit, Homer Bynum, Onezina Bynum Brown and Mary Rachel; and his granddaughter Tiernee Whitmore.
He is survived by: his children, William Butch Whitmore (Sue), Laura Fowler (Michael) of Rock Hill and Linda Yannotti (Chan) of Rock Hill. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
