She was predeceased by: her grandmother Joan Overton. She is survived by: her parents, Kathryn Dougherty and Jon-Paul Dougherty; her siblings, Spencer, Carter and Mallory; and her grandparents, Bobbie Dougherty of Fort Mill, SC and Frank Overton of South Haven, MI.. She is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Makenzie's honor online to the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation; Rainbow Babies Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH; or Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
