Lois Paulette Covington Obituary

Rock Hill – Mrs. Lois Paulette Smith Covington, 76, went home to be with the Lord and reunited with her husband, Walt Covington, on Saturday, January 22, 2022.

A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Allison Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Beeks officiating.

A native of Greenville, SC Mrs. Covington was a daughter of the late Paul G. Smith and Myrtle Mae Woodall Smith. She was a strong follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church and a former member of Allision Creek Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed having all of the family over on Sundays and cooking a big meal to be shared by all. She loved working with children and helped to start the preschool program at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church and later moved to Grace Presbyterian Church and worked as a preschool teacher there until her retirement. She loved taking care of her cat, Leo, feeding the birds in the yard, and tending to her flower garden. Everyone remembers her home made birthday cakes and holiday baking.

Surviving are three sons, Brad Covington (Karen), Roger Covington, Nathan Covington (Christina); a brother, Ricky Smith (Libby); two sisters, Cora “Doodle” Jones and Lorene Sparkman; five grandchildren, Jessie Covington, Jacob Covington, Philip Covington, Paul Covington, Anna Covington. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Smith.
