He is survived by: his wife Lucille Morris Thompson; his daughter Cynthia L. Butch of Rock Hill; and his grandchildren, Michael (Alex), Jonathan (Lori) and Kelly. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
