He was predeceased by : his parents, Jim Cox and Patsy Cox; his brother Joe Cox; and his son Daniel Cox. He is survived by : his wife Dianne; his sons, Ryan Cox, Billy Rinehart and Michael Rinehart (Claudia); his grandchildren, Caroline, Greyson, Maryn Cox, Jennifer Rinehart and Haley Davis; and his brothers, Jim Cox (Jeanie) and Jack Cox (Emily).

A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the West End Baptist Church (1727 McConnells Hwy, Rock Hill, SC 29732). A reception was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
