With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Barney Blackwelder of Rock Hill, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 17, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William Blackwelder and Bonnie "Bessie" Lea Whitener Blackwelder; his former wife Alice Blackwelder; and his siblings, Cecil of Eugene, C. M., Bob, Jimmy, Margaret, Ruth and Nancy.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Arlene Jenkins; his children, Claude Atkinson (Brenda), Barbara Jeffords (Gary) and Kathy Kuebler (Dennis); and his brother Paul Blackwelder (Joyce).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church (238 Fort Mill Hwy, Fort Mill, SC 29707). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
