He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Bucy and Lula H. Guthrie Bucy; his former wife Harriet Hanauer; his siblings, William, Eugene and Jane; his son Douglas Allen Bucy; and his wife Wilma Caughman Taylor.

He is survived by: his sons, Greg (Candy) and Brad (CeCe); his grandsons, Dalton of Rock Hill, Cal of Rock Hill and Tucker of Rock Hill; and his stepchildren, Dr. Caughman Taylor (Eleni) of Columbia, Davis Taylor (Sally) of Chattanooga, TN and Laurie Ann Norman (David) of Rock Hill. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
