As we bid Joanne farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joanne is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sloan Douglas Cobb and Opal Whitesides Cobb; her siblings, Maxine Whisonant and Sloan Douglas Cobb, Jr.; and her granddaughter Emily Whitten Hafner.
She is survived by: her significant other Barnes Marshall; her daughters, Catherine Whitten (Scott), Shannon Horn (George) and Joanna Grice (Jim); and her brother Michael Cobb (Denise). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
