She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Byers Prevette and Willie Mae Britt Prevette; her grandparent Senator Q. E. Britt; and her husband James "Jimmy" Blackwell. She is survived by: her sons, Britt Blackwell (Martha) and Matthew Blackwell (Anne); her grandchildren, Christina Williams (Johnathan), Phillip Blackwell, Spencer Blackwell and Coleman Blackwell; her great grandchildren, Haidyn Williams and Callie Grace Williams; and her sister Brenda Horace. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joanne's name to First Baptist Church-Rock Hill, 481 Hood Center Dr., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to the charity of one's choice.
