He was predeceased by: his parents, James Heyward Rawls, Sr. and Rebecca Mabel Gantt Rawls; his wife Sylvia Reynolds Rawls; his children, Karen Denise Rawls, Richard Wayne Rawls and James Timothy Rawls; and his brother David Michael Rawls.
He is survived by: his daughter Lynn Rawls Henson (Jeff) of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Heather H DeJesus (Andres) of Rock Hill and Andrew Henson (Katelyn) of Irmo, SC; his great grandchildren, Donte DeJesus, Parker Henson, Zoey DeJesus, Ava Henson, Jade Henson and Isla Henson; his sisters, Sue Rawls of Charlotte, NC, Cindy Carroll (Scott) of Chester, SC and Becky Ann Bryant (Max) of Rock Hill; and his caregivers, Sharnta Moore, Phyllis Hemphill, Penny Wallace and Sara Moore. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
