He was predeceased by: his parents, Conard Farthing and Jean Farthing. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth; his daughters, Susan (Bruce Hoelzen), Beth (Eddie Weeks) and Janice Jones Wilkins (Ira Wilkins); his grandchildren, Lona (Ryan Rushforth), Max Hoelzen (McKenzie Owen) and Amanda (Scott Lackey); and his great grandchildren, Liam, Owen Rushforth and Jase Lackey.

Memorials may be sent to Mt. Holly UMC Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
