He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Parrish Childers; his children, Roger Childers and Renee Childers; and his mother Virginia Maybelle Childers Gunn. He is survived by: his son Dean Childers of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Blaze Childers, Skyler Childers and Dakota Childers; and his sisters, Alice Kay Gunn Jackson (Johnny "Sonny Boy") of Lugoff, SC, Rosie Gunn Hinson of Columbia and Joyce M. Gunn Dority (Robert) of Bishopville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
