She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Thomas and Tillie Thomas; her husband Douglas D. Parsons; and her siblings, Lizzie Mae Collins, Rowena Brown, Evelyn Bennett, Addie Bratton, Caldwell Thomas, Samuel Thomas, Robert Thomas, Columbus Thomas and William Thomas.
She attended a class to care for patients with Poliomyelitis and was lauded for her work in the field by the President of The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.
