She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabra Frank Newman and Gwendolyn Perry Newman; and her daughters, Wendy Gay Armstrong and Tracy Lynn Armstrong. She is survived by: her husband Richard Laurence Armstrong; her son Richard Gregory Armstrong (Yulie) of Charlotte, NC; and her sister Kathy Lee. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
