He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Gray Sims; his sister Jean Wilburn; and his children, Timothy Sims and Suzannah Blackwell. He is survived by: his sons, James W Sims (Regine) of Jesteburg, Germany, Andrew Sims (Anne) of Waxhaw, NC and John M. Sims of Jupiter, FL. He is also survived by his friends, his 3 surviving children, his 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
