It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jack Ligon (Rock Hill, South Carolina), born in York, South Carolina, who passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nicholas Ligon and Hannah Corine Parrish Ligon; and his siblings, William Ligon, Heyward Ligon, Claude Ligon, Clem Ligon, James Ligon, Virginia Nichols, Anna Falls and Frances Gaston.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Merchant Ligon; his daughter Cathy Griffin (David) of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Jimmy Fitzpatrick (Jeannie), Courtney Fitzpatrick Heinlein (Kurt), Rachael Griffin Daniels (Eric) and Hannah Griffin Oxendine (Aaron); and his great grandchildren, Sutton, Leighton, Elias, Eve, Georgia, Charley, Ethan and Maddox. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Ligon's name to the "Newland House", (a retirement home for Ligon family members-a cause near and dear to Jack's heart), LFKA, c/o Laine Ligon, 3125 Longleaf Rd, Columbia, SC 29205.
