With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ian Douglas Throgmorton of Rock Hill, South Carolina, born in Quantico, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2024 at the age of 58. As Ian Douglas departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Ian Douglas. Though Ian Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his father James Richard Throgmorton; and his brother Brian Keith Throgmorton. He is survived by: his mother Mary Anne Garvin Throgmorton; his sister Julianne T. Williford (Bud); his nieces, Sarah Annmarie Collins (Jared) and Mary Elissa Johnston; his stepmother Nancy Carolyn Throgmorton Mabry; and his half-brother James Richard Throgmorton.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Hills Cemetery (4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society in memory of Doug, honoring his kind soul and love for all living creatures.
