He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Felton McConnell and Euna Bell Hall McConnell; his daughter Pam McConnell; and his brother Bill McConnell. He is survived by: his wife Helen Wilson McConnell; his children, Jimmy McConnell (Charlene) of Rock Hill, Brian Locke (Sherry) of Mississippi and Cynthia McConnell (Mickey Gardner) of Edgemoor, SC; and his grandchildren, Jamie, Josh (Amy), Cole, Jimmy (Brittany), Jeremy and Jennifer. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Howard McConnell's name to Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
