He was predeceased by: his father Auvil B. Chancey; and his sister Shirley Coomes. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Chancey; his sister Mary Talbott of Big Rock, Virginia; his children, John Chancey (Heidi) of Fort Mill, SC and Caren Chancey (Stephen Stewart) of Vienna, Virginia; and his granddaughters, Ella, Harper, Caroline, Melody and Natalie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Presbyterian Church 600 N. White Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
