He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover John Gainey, Sr. and Aleen Lee Gainey; and his wife Mary Sue DeAmicis Gainey. He is survived by: his children, Christine Ashburn (Carlton) of York, James Burns of Rock Hill and Johnny Ray Gainey (Melanie) of Columbia; his sister Diane Elizabeth Black of Rock Hill; and his close friend Kristi Bryant. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; and his faithful caregiver.
