He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Greenwalt and Elizabeth Greenwalt; his wife Emily Whitesell; and his sister Oceola Brown. He is survived by: his children, Charlotte Ann Goodwin (Matt) of Rock Hill, Glen David Whitesell Jr. (Marina) of Maryland and Jeffrey Wayne Whitesell of Rock Hill; and his sisters, Beth Mazer and Anita Delbridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Whitesell's name to Cel-River Church of God, 280 Celriver Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
