He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clark Gaissert and Mary Phillips Gaissert of Griffin, Georgia.; and his sister Georgia Gaissert. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Evans Gaissert; his children, Kevin C. Gaissert (Michelle Noblitt Gaissert) of Rock Hill, Blythe Gaissert Levitt (Louis Levitt) and Brooks Gaissert of Matthews; his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Katie Gaissert, Ian and Walker Levitt; and his sister Mary Gaissert Jackson of Opelousas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in George's name to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Channel WTVI PBS Television in Charlotte, North Carolina, SCETV PBS television in Columbia, South Carolina.
