George Cherry Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Cherry (Rock Hill, South Carolina), born in Catawba, South Carolina, who passed away on February 1, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe A. Cherry, Sr. and Willie Mae Stinson Cherry; and his siblings, Betty Cherry, Willie M. Cherry, Joe A. Cherry, Jr., Emmanuel L. Cherry and Arthur J. Cherry.

He is survived by: his wife Eliza Cherry; his children, Wanda Cherry Sturdivant (Gerard) of Rock Hill and George Melton Cherry of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Tivia Williams (Sharod), Larquis Cherry, Trey Cherry, Ty Cherry, Sulaiman Sturdivant, Elisha Sturdivant and Chenelle Brown; and his siblings, Janice R. Jones (Willie) of Rock Hill, Gurdine Mackey of Rock Hill, Barbara Kennedy (Sandy) of Rock Hill, Zelda Brown of Rock Hill, Frankie L. Cherry of Charlotte and Melvin B. Cherry of Rock Hill. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
