He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Gillespie and Essie Wylie Gillespie; his wife Margaret Jackson Gillespie; and his children, Douglas Jordan Gillespie and Catherine Gillespie Grant.
He is survived by: his sons, Don Gillespie (Jan) of Rock Hill, SC and Jack Gillespie (Denise) of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel (2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road (620 S Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732).
