He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Carter and Annie Scott Carter; his wife Dorothy L. Carter; his children, Rickey Edward Carter and Frieda Ann Carter Kerns; his grandson Robbie Carter; and his siblings, Ray, Clarence, Jack Carter, Margaret Rinehart, Helen Whitaker and Shirley Mayberry.
He is survived by: his sons, Andy Eugene Carter (Jewell) of Fort Lawn, SC and Robert A Carter (Monica) of York, SC; his son-in-law Eric Kerns of York, SC; his grandchildren, Shane Carter, Travis Carter (Shelly), Eric Lester Kerns, II (Allie), Roland Carter Kerns, Joey Carter, Logan Carter, Michael Carter and Holly Vega (Javier); his great grandchildren, Trenton, Diego, Alex, MaKinleigh, Nellie, Kaylee, Karlee, Kelsey and Karmen; and his sisters, Lucille Andress of Troy, AL. and Gracie Vontella Wright of Warner Robbins, GA..
