He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Freeman and Ruby Strickland Freeman; his wife Linda Ann Ledbetter Freeman; and his siblings, Larry, Ray Freeman and Gay Hamby.

He is survived by: his sons, Brandon Edward Freeman (Brittany) of Rock Hill, SC and Grant Edward Freeman (Abageal) of Odenville, AL; and his grandchildren, Briggs Freeman, Adylene, Ruby and Briley Freeman.
