He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richard West, Sr. and Thelma Gertrude Railey West; his wife Evonne Donahue West; and his brothers, John R. West Jr. and Roger West.

He is survived by: his son Joseph K. West (Chandra); his sisters, Barbara Elkins of Rock Hill and Phyllis Allen of Rock Hill; and his great-niece Jaidan Vance. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Clyde West's name to Providence Care Hospice, 500 Lakeshore Parkway, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730 or Roddey Baptist Church, 2678 S. Anderson Rd., Catawba, SC, 29704.
