She was predeceased by: her parents, William Grier Jenkins and Cora Elizabeth Quinn Jenkins; her husband Ralph "Don" Penland; and her sister Reba Jenkins Wright. She is survived by: her children, Fred W. Penland (Debbie) of Spartanburg, SC and Sheila Penland; and her grandsons, Jamie Penland, Scott Penland and Michael Gossett.
